its an excellent time to buy shares in companies such as banks whose share value is at an all time low
If in the UK, consider Halifax or other banks who have suffered by the credit crunch |

You are asking for fortune tellers. Stock prices may still decline very substantially, and a DJ or TSX index 5000 level is not out of the question.
There has been nothing happening yet to suggest that you need to invest quickly to get on board a rising market.
You could lose heavily before the markets go back up again. Many companies could fail, and particularly companies with high debt / equity ratios.
It is entirely possible that long term interest rates may go up sharply to get some liquidity, so early purchases of long term bonds may lose you big time. Buying short term bonds could expose you to bond defaults with little upside.
Depositing in a savings account could help the bank liquidity crisis, but they may not be able to give your money back right when you want to use it. |

A lot depends on your personal circumstances. Don`t invest unless you could afford to lose the capital without ruining your life. That is my advice. I am retired with no mortgage and enough pension coming in to live a reasonable life, so I have invested a quarter of my savings in shares. That is the sort of safety margin you have to be thinking about I believe. Hope that helps. |

Goldman Sachs and Bank of America. But, I'd still wait for more bad news first. |

Not good to invest in shares at the moment. If you have money to spare, but it in a high interest account, or in an ISA. |
