Justin W | What to do with mutual funds? |
These are usually low risk, but right now its dropping like crazy. Is it better to ride out this semi-recession or sell it now? |

If you are in now, let it be. Dont sell. Mutual funds are meant to sit for the long-term. This is a 1-3 year bear market. Wait it out. And remember, "you havent lost money until you sell". |

If you have any extra money, send it in and increase your position. The market is selling at a huge discount to earnings. Think long term. Leave the emotion selling to the amateurs. |

Don't sell. it is a long- term investment and ur money is in the right place. The benefits are rewarding. Be patient and positive yet hopeful. |

Don't sell. With the market down now is a good time to buy more, the prices are down. History shows that after all drops the market rebounds. |

Ride out it.
There are several reasons to say this:
First of all, even professional investors aren't very good at timing the market's turns up and down. Do you think you'd be better? (I don't think I am.)
Second, you do run the very real risk of selling near the bottom. Is it the bottom now? I don't know -- see above.
Third, studies have repeatedly shown that the most important factor in total return (for long-term investors, anyway) is asset allocation -- that is, to maintain your target allocation to stocks vs. bonds, and to domestic vs. international, etc.
Last, if you're a long-term investor, act like one. Don't let the market's craziness infect your thinking. |

The stock market is down right now. World markets are down in general. I suggest that you follow the market and the sectors more closely, day by day. One good resource is http://www.federalreserve.ws which contains a lot of information about markets, economics, and finance. |

If your under 50 HOLD
( then later look at the funds fees when the market is at a high
and move to no load low fee index funds)
Over 50 HOLD
Over 60
you were nuts to be in the market |
