Average time for the market to hit a new high after a Bear market *ends* is 3 years 3 months.
This recession may be a little deeper and without a doubt the longest for most alive today, so maybe a little longer.
But with bad news still coming out, getting worse every week it seems, unemployment has been worsening for 11 months, I am not sure we done going down yet.
That makes it very hard to even give a loose guess as to "when" it will be that high again. |

I would buy real property instead of paper assets. The Dow may make it to 14000 but if the dollar has been devalued to 30%, it actually will have fallen. Stay in front of inflation! |

man.... that was a good laugh! I'm not sure our economy will live to see the Dow that high again. Realistically, I'd suggest buying up gold so that when the dollar is so devalued that it isn't worth the paper it is printed on, you can still get some groceries... you might have to road trip to Canada or Mexico to get them however. I know I'm being pessimistic, but our government is making some crazy moves that I think may bandage our economic wounds today, but leave an infected mortal wound for the future. |
