I understand your concern. The main reason for this is
Loss of Confidence:
It is a factor that probably overrides all of this, and that is the loss of confidence both at an individual and corporate level. People are not spending and companies are not investing because they are uncertain about the future. If an individual is not sure how much he will be earning a year down the line, then a ten thousand rupee drop in a car's price is not going to make him a buyer. The same thought process also governs corporate expansion plans. Even if the liquidity and rate issues are solved, the loss of confidence can only be repaired by a reasonably long period during which the real situation improves. This hasn't even started yet.

Your question is relevant to the context and is being asked by all investors (both big and small), who have chosen to hold their stock positions (held in their portfolio) through this stock market drawdown.

You would appreciate that it is quite visible in hindsight that the stock market has been in a downward moving channel since January 2008.

It is expected that the stock markets and the stocks (through their present price levels) have discounted all the adverse global and domestic news which may be relevant to the context as far as the valuation and connected intrinsic value of the stocks is concerned.

On further observation, you would realize that the stock market and the stocks you hold have not come straight down; that is to say they have moved both up and down over a period of time and have finally reached their present levels.

As and when the stock markets and stocks do start their upmove, you may be rest assured that they would not go straight up. Here again they would move up and down over a period of time and finally achieve price levels where you may be inclined to liquidate your stock positions at a profit.

Sincerely,

Akash

Ya you are right but our markets are not independent and the markets in the world effects the rise and fall of our markets.

They are also linked to the world markets as there is recession in American and other countries, so the market takes time to recover and no one can guess the time of recovery. As you know that basic thing that if supply is more and the demand is less, obviously the price of the commodity will fall, this can be applied to the present market situation and you can have the market updates and the suggestions and others things on the following sites. You can get the buy and sell signals and the analysis on the stocks and their movement.
