False.

You must pay a commission when you purchase a stock and when you sell a stock.

Good luck.

There is usually a charge when you buy and sell stock. The fees depend on the type of purchase you make, as well as through which broker you trade. It's also usually cheapest to trade online, followed by phone, and the most expensive is through a personal broker. I've never heard of free buy transactions, since your broker pays a fee to the stock exchange to make the purchase for you, so he/she gets his money back (and profit) by charging you comission on all trades (buy and sell).

False you get charged for every trade, be it buy or sell.

With the advent of online trading, commissions are very low now.

False. There are a few discount brokers now that offer a limited number of free trades per month....but you must carry a certain balance.
