When you play the lotto is it better to play easy pick or pick your own numbers?
Which one increases your chances of winning?

Not an "investing" question.

According to what I heard in the news the best way is to play the same numbers every week, they say that is the best was to increase your chances.

The lottery is voluntary taxation. A large proportion of the proceeds goes to the state government. Casinos have a much smaller house rake. By all accounts that I've seen, it is random by design. This randomness is enforced by the lottery commission. Because of the randomness, there is no theoretical difference between your chances of using quick pick or choosing your own numbers, but there is the human hunch factor. I don't believe in psychics, but I've experienced and witnessed incredible hunches, so I don't know. I think your best chances are to put the money you use for the lottery in a savings account. I know that's boring, but I suggest you do your gambling in the casinos.

Either way, the lotto is dependant on chance. The numbers drawn are random, so either way you go, you are simply taking a chance.

If you play it week after week, it is better to play the same numbers. If you keep changing your numbers, your odds will never get any better. Over time, (not that you have that much time since there are way too many combinations) your odds will get better.

Makes no differnce either picking random numbers or the same ones every week. Every draw your odds are effectively re-set. You have exactly the same probability with any set of numbers no matter how they are picked or how often you have used them.
