It is possible to buy gold in a physical and 'dealable' fashion and this can easily be achieved with coins as an example, such as sovereigns and their derivatives. Gold bars are also available, although these usually require larger capital inputs.
This is a very specialised area and you need to think carefully before investing. Speak to a specialist before investing and take advice. Many companies can be found on the internet using Yahoo. The value of gold and its past performance can be found at FT.com. Obviously, past performance is not a guarantee of future investment and these are un-regulated and potentially higher risk investments. |

Be very careful buying gold whatever form it is.
The quality of gold differs from one to another.
I would go for a reputable company. I don't know which country you are from. Search on the internet and look for the company's name you are very familiar with. |

Look gold bullion dealers up on the Internet. I did this a while ago, because I was interested in buying. Gold bars come in different sizes, so you don't have to invest a fortune. The other thing is that they will keep the gold bar, if you want, in secure storage. IE, in that case you wouldn't see the bar. They also come in slightly different levels of % gold content. Some bars maybe say, 98.4% pure gold etc.
It can be done though. |

I would imagine you could purchase a gold bar through a dealer or broker. If the Yellow Pages can't help you out, try calling a stock broker. He may be able to put you onto a dealer in gold. |
