If you want to invest on Gold i think you should go to -CBOT - Chicago board of trade is a global commodity futures exchange trading treasury bonds, corn, soybean, wheat, mini-sized Dow, gold, silver and more, or to NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange)

Here you wont actually buy the gold and take it to your house but you have the opportunity to buy the option to buy or sell -even if you don't own any gold- at a price that you have to analyze making a historical, graphical and expert opinion research.

At CBOT or at NYMEX you trade with gold futures and you can really maximize your profits and reduce the risk. There are some Internet platforms where you can practice with test money and learn how to invest in futures and the benefits doing it. But when you choose an investment platform take a good look of the bank behind it.

I put some of the platforms in the source list but i recommend the Saxo bank, i now it and it is a very solid Bank. Some of the platforms also allow you to buy or sell with spot transactions.

If you want to learn about trading options or futures or spot you can take a seminar at CBOT, or NYMEX or other institutions or if you fell you can handle it there si a lot of information easy to read and understand in the web a listed a very basic ones.

I hope this helps

Since you asked where... You can try Kitco: https://online.kitco.com/sellprice/selling.html

Personally, I don't care for the lack of liquidity and you can accomplish the same goals by buying and ETF, a miner stock or a contract on NYMEX.

Gold is not an "investment", it is a hedge.

But if you insist on owning it (which is tantamount to insisting the world is coming to an end, in which case it would be smarter to own bottles of water & cans of Spam!), it would be smarter to buy shares in a gold-mining company, or "collectible gold coins" like krugerands.

If your total net worth is less than $2-5M, then gold is just plain silly.
