Oil prices are going to go up, and are expected to touch $150 a barrel by middle of this year.
Reasons:
--Super powers are influencing the oil companies in middle east to decrease the production to create demand, thus increasing prices. The reasons, I cannot discuss here.
--With depleting resources, companies are having to dig deeper, thus increasing the production costs.
--Terrorism like burning of the oil wells has been a problem, adding to the fuel costs. |

I have to agree with you that gas prices are only going to go higher. The ultimate question is how high? I live in Pennsylvania and in the matter of a day gas went up 10 cents from 3.19 to 3.29. I would like to think that we wont see $4+/gallon but I'm not so sure. |

This week, oil prices reached their highest inflation-adjusted price since the 1970s. There is bound to be a pullback at some point -- that's the way markets work. But as long as the dollar continues to plummet, the price of oil and other commodities will continue to rise. This could go on for quite some time. Commodity bull markets tend to last for a decade or more. So I would buy the dips in oil stocks, ETFs or futures contracts. |

There is an actual decline in consumption, a big change. The weakening dollar is a big part of it. Interesting story at link below.
This story touches on it, but there was another I heard on Marketplace saying that so much investment is going into oil, that it will be oversaturated with futures investors. That, coupled with increasing supply and weakening demand (in story below also), there could be a crash in the price. Let's hope!!! There are signs of that possibility in this story. The downside is if there is an oil crash, it could be your pension fund or 401k that comes crashing down with it.
Edit-To Dood (below)-do you have anything that backs up a single thing that you said? I believe we should conserve, and start getting off of fossil fuel. But the serious news media contradict most of your statements. Where are you getting your info?
