It would be recorded in the county courthouse. It's public record and you could even call and ask a clerk to check it for you.

County Assessor Office can give you the legal discription if you don't already have it. Then take the leagal discription to the County Cerk Office this is where the deed & mortgage will be filed.
worldlywise
Check the Deed of Trust or go to your county records and look up the plot of land. Most county employees will be glad to help you locate the property.
When the property was purchased and you went to the closing and signed paperwork your name should be on the title.
If you signed nothing, you will not be on the title or any other documentation.
Good Luck

What state do you reside in - Did you close at a title company - if so you can check with them - or check with your mortgage company - if you are on the mortgage then you should be on the title however that doesn't work in reverse - you can be on the title and not be on the mortgage so check with the title company - the county courthouse should also have this info and also the Central Appraisal District but their records are not always up to date Good Luck

Look at everything and everywhere, bank, prenup, notes, loans, courthouse titlework. If you are separated or getting a divorce watch out when signing any paper work. Even if you don't think or know your going to get a divorce. I had a certain mortgage company, it’s broker person who tried to help my partner get my name off the deed for our house we had built and the land because he had other plans…when I called them on it…. “Hey you don’t have my name on this?” …Walla… the broker had another set of papers with both names already typed and ready to use just in case I caught them doing their little/BIG paper/name shuffle. I was smart enough to ask to look through them again and then I slipped them into my brief case they wouldn't dare ask me to give them back took the singled named title and deed and paperwork home to keep them to show my Attorney and the AttorneyGeneral of my home state… just stay alert be smart and look at everything...

Find the property appraiser web site for your county or city. You should have a option to serarch by name or address and the record will show up. There you would see whoever is listed on the house and other info. too.
