The markets typically react better to the election of a republican president. The markets see Republicans as better for economic stimulus, less taxes, support business, etc.. However historically the market performs best with a democrat in office, its counterintuitive, but it is historically proven. As a registered republican its not what I want to hear, but its true. |

The one that is not a socialist........remember Hilliary and Obama want to attack business. You know, higher corporate taxes and seize profits |

As it stands, none of them. If Huckabee was a factor he could but as it stands he is a non-factor. If I have to choose, I would say McCain but not by a large margin. |

Republican Presidents favor tax cuts for big business, but alternative energy stocks favor Democrats. |

McCain.
Wall Street does not want to see a Democrat sweep. |

As an interest outsider I think McCain will have the biggest possible positive affect.
I think big business is hesitant about Clinton and Obama, but will still put a few bucks their way just to hedge their bets. |

Hillary and Obama want to implement a lot of things (like their health care initiatives for all) that will cost a lot of money. They'll either have to raise taxes, raise the deficit, or both. Neither of those things are good for the stock market or the economy in general, so I would say McCain would be best fo rthe stock market. |

none of them really. The president isn't really in a position to fundamentally effect the market except over a longer term period. Things are such a mess right now that it really won't matter who wins.
That being said, the market will probably rise if they think we are going to get out of Iraq, because that is a major drag on the economy, so maybe Obama. |

Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Obama would be the worst and she has the best shot of beating him, McCain does not even factor in as Bush's approval rating is so low due to the war and the economy it is highly doubtful any Republican can win. |

No candidate will cause a rise or fall in the DJIA. Short term, the markets react negatively to uncertainty. Long term, regardless of which party is in office, the market produces great returns. |
