gm is going bankrupt if govt doesn't help them so ford is the right choice , but why investin automobile industry why not try other sectors. |

Neither. If the government allows them to file for bankruptcy, their stock will be worth ZERO. Even if the government bails them out, it will be awhile before we see a turnaround, if ever. They are stuck in a failed business model. They owe too much in retiree benefits. They are at a competitive disadvantage to Honda and Toyota. |

Neither. Not really feeling like paying for the top exec's caviar at the moment (to boot: while the "little people" struggle). |

If you like gambling, go for either one. I don't get why people want to take huge risks when all they have to do is diversify. Deep recessions like this have the biggest returns 5 years later. |

Invest in gold and gas. Oil is low now, but it will go up again. Gold is your best bet...Right now the fed is printing cash to fix the credit mortgage crisis, but this is going to raise inflation. |

GM, they'll be bringing more small cars and hybrids out quicker than Ford will. Ford is a truck based company and with this bad economy and high gas prices I don't think people will be buying their vehicles. |

If you HAVE to choose between the two: Ford.
Ford probably won't need bailout money and if they can make it to the next quarter then they should do better. GM probably will need bailout money soon and if they don't get it soon they may go bankrupt before the next quarter, they are in really bad shape. While ford is in decent shape for the shape they are in, and that's not very good. |

I would not want buy either stock because they may take years to recover and show a profit . However , if you are willing to take a risk, the Ford corporate junk bonds can be purchased at discount with a yield of 50% interest on terms of 1-2 years . |
