Which is a good broker with simple to use tools to begin investing in stock.?
I've been reading a lot about stocks and have gotten to a point where I think I've learned enough to begin investing. I'm not an statistical expert, so I am looking for an online broker with simple to use tools. I was considering Scottrade and TD Ameritrade. Any suggestions?

I recently opened an account with Tradeking (www.tradeking.com) which I use to dabble in options. They certainly are cheap--4.95 commissions. I haven't used (or even glanced at) any of their investing tools, since I do essentially all my research off my brokers website.

I also have an etrade account. I think that etrade is well laid out and probably does have a few useful investing tools, but it is significantly more expensive (I pay 10/trade and I think they charge 12/trade on smaller accounts). They may also charge you an 'account maintenace fee' if you have a small account, which is something you want to avoid at all costs.

I have also heard of the fabled Zecco (which is supposedly free) but I haven't used it.

At 7/trade Scottrade probably won't do you wrong.

Etrade is my favorite online, discount broker. Their tools are user friendly and simple to use.

Only one book to read, it is "How to Make Money in Stocks" by William J. O'Neil.

When you are ready to open an online account, tradeking trade fee is $4.95, and scottrade is $7.

If you or others want a good deal, such as 3 free trades from scottrade or 4 free trades from tradeking, pls email me at curiouse123456@yahoo.com

I've used both and both are good. Do your research and homework and good luck.

You won't go wrong with Scottrade.

They are inexpensive, offer a lot of good research tools that others charge for, and they work well. I've been a customer of theirs for a year and am quite happy, even considering transferring other accounts to them.

I like zecco, not sure about having much tools, but it's free to trade.
