Which is the better vehicle for investing - stocks or foreign currencies?

When you play foreign currencies, you definately have higher leverage, which means you gain more and also lose more. And they charge you by spread, which is definately worth it.

Stocks are not as volatile as foreign currency from my personal experience, thats why I'm sticking to foreign currencies.

Frank Castle
There is not enough information to answer your question.

Foreign Currencies can get you higher returns because the leverage is larger (100 to 1)

However, the risk is also higher.

If by better you mean the biggest profits then Foreign Currencies.

If by better you mean the lower risk then Stocks.

These investment vehicles are only for those who have an in-depth understanding of the market. If you are a newbie, I guess it would be better to invest in stocks because currencies are highly volatile. Maybe you could invest in a blue chip company that regularly gives dividends. I guess, you have to study the financial status of the company you are investing in, its stability and future prospects.

I think stocks are a better vehicle - provided you stick to well-known companies with sound fundamentals. Picking penny stocks with the expectation that they will rise 1000% in 6 months or 1 year is unrealistic. Because many times in a bull market, these stocks do go up quite a lot, but then they can come crashing down with a thud, leaving the hapless investor in deep trouble.

In foreign currencies, you can invest in the US dollar. Generally there aren't too many wild fluctuations in the dollar rate, but the yield is not as high as investment in blue-chip stocks. So do your own research, pick stocks with caution and you should get good returns. Or if you don't have the time for research, invest in a mutual fund. Mutual funds too offer good returns, though not as high as direct investment in equities.

I use money as the vehicle to invest in stocks or foreign currencies.

Definitely stocks. They have provided the best returns of any investment vehicle over the last century.

Neither one. Property is the best way to invest. Property values continue to rise while stocks are uncertain. I wouldn't touch foreign currencies. They are too easy to manipulate.

Stocks go up in general. Every country I ever heard of has inflation. Their money declines in value. You tell me.
