12PM IS NOON. |

Because 12 p.m. is noon. A new day doesn't start at noon, it starts at midnight. Therefore 12:00 a.m. (midnight) is the start of a new 24 hours. |

why are you arguing with the world? |

Surely you don't get it. Midnight is 12:00AM and noon is 12:00PM. Deal with it. |

Midnight is 12:00am, because the morning hours (1:00am, 2:00am etc.) start then. |

as it is mostly the military and official people that use the 24 hour clock there are a few points to bring up. 1/ 1200 is mid day and 0000 is midnight 2/ no am or pm is used, 3/ say you are talking about midnight on 23rd you could use 2359 to ensure the 23rd is recognised and 0001 to show the morning of 24th hope this helps you out. |

So you want to do 12:00pm as midnite and one minute after is 12:01am??? Or you want to keep going so one minute after midnite is 12:01pm and six hours later in the morning is 6:00pm and one minute before noon is 11:59pm??? How about that, now you happy?? Dude, afternoon starts AT noon 12:00pm. It is the starting point of the afternoon. |

12 pm means 12 past mid day so no it shouldnt be am. 12 am means 12 after midnight. |

12 am midnight and then 12 am midday, that's confusing. use the term 2359hrs to finish the day 1 second before midnight and 0001hrs to start the next day just after midnight, theoretically midnight would be 0000hrs. as used in the forces and elswhere |
