A broker by definition, is the middleman, between the buyer and the seller, And this fits, because he does not own the stock you buy, and does not buy the stock you sell. He is only the agent that facilitates the trade. |

A broker is a person that offers deals, and make arrangements so deals can be worked out. The broker most often does not own the deal, an insurance broker does not provide INSURANCE, a stock broker does not own the stock being sold. These people are independent salespeople.
Perhaps there need a service that provides the buying public with the information they need to know as they proceed to enter into transactions. |

The broker is the one who not only invests but also makes deals or "brokers" deals with the companies which he invests in for you. Hence the most of his job is brokering...not investing.
