Why there is a negative equity on Kodak balance sheet?
when I look the 2009 balance sheet on Kodak website. I find there is negative equity because negative Treasury Stock in equity. I know treasury stock is mean repurchase its own stock. The negative treasury stock is bigger than common stock and other accounts in the total equity. Does that mean Kodak bought all their common stock buy from shareholders? or becasue the accumulated losses from prior years? or becasue Kodak is leveraged buyouts? please help!

Most of it is the treasury stock on their balance sheet, which is entered as a negative amount and makes their total equity negative. Their assets and liabilities are almost equal. The rest of it is because of the "other stockholders equity". I dont know what that is. Look in the 10-K.
