Will America ever recover from this financial crisis?

Dr. Campbell
Don't worry, America has always recovered and will continue to do so. We are the cornerstone of the world's economy so it is in other country's best interests to keep us floating.

Gem
Short term, stocks will go up, stocks will fall.

The first step of fixing a problem is to admit you have a problem.

Since foreclosures & Wall Street are only symptoms NOT true root causes, we will figure out how to apply a bandaid, but the real problem hasn't been addressed.

This is exactly what happens when a country quits producing things of real value. We have sent the majority of our good paying middle class jobs out of the country and continue to import millions from other countries that are willing to work harder, for less and not go in debt.

Unless middle America wakes up and realizes that we have to quit consuming and creating wealth for a small portion of this country while we fight with the entire world over the rich & political scraps.

We have lost our way, and over the next few years we will pay the price. We can hope that during that time the rich Oil Sheiks, China & Russia don't buy up everything and then plunge us into serfdom.

And I know, no one believes me, and that is ok. I am preparing my family, hope you are preparing yours.

America is the greatest country in the world, always has been always will be. Yes we will recover. In other news, Clay Aiken is gay, who knew.

The truth is, America has never experienced anything like this. Depression was different than this. We've entered the abyss of finance. We don't know what the outcome will be. Personally, I believe we will eventually recover but we'll never be as great as we used to be. We've reached the height of our economic success and though we're not going to turn into some 3rd world country, we'll never be the great, super rich country we've been used to.

Well America has already been through such economic crises before. Hopefully it won't have to fall too badly this time and even if worse comes to worst you can always count on Her to stand back up stonger than ever.

Cat
Of course. The country came through The Great Depression, why would it not recover from this?

The one constant in life is change.

Yes, but please understand that a recovery from this kind of mess will involve more than just throwing a giant bucket-o-money into the financial markets. The American financial institutions must establish, maintain and adhere to a set of rules for speculative (subprime) lending. Thus, these institutions must accept the responsibility for lend money to those with questionable assets, income and credit history,

of course we will recover, if now all are doomed- to live in a mad max like post apocalyptic world, I would stock up on cinnamilk now so you can be a tribes healer and thus protected from the cruelties of that world

ranger_co_1_75
We will recover, but we won't be the economic super power we once were.

We no longer have the industrial job base that has supported us in the past. We now have a consumer based economy dependent upon building homes and providing medical care. All other jobs depend directly or in directly on home building and medical care jobs.

Not before all americans are starving, so that they can better accept the antichrist and worship him.
