How old are you? What is your income? What do you consider rich? Are you willing to save a significant amount? Are you an investor or a speculator that calls himself an investor? With answers to these questions I can tell you.

For instance, if you are 22 and want to retire at age 67 with dividend income of $100000 per year, and will buy stocks that pay a good dividend yield that tends to rise over the years, will reinvest dividends, hardly ever sell, will hope stock prices will go down so additional purchases will buy more share, then the answer is yes.

For example if you save an invest $2000 the first year, increase the investment four per cent per year, earn four per cent dividend yield, have dividends grow at seven per cent per year, retiring after 45 years you would receive dividends of $138,946 the first year with growth expected to be seven per cent greater in each following year. This might be considered rich.
