The market is currently in a downtrend, so no in the near term. Every market needs a few things to go higher.
1) Leadership. The stocks that led the market higher the last time are not likely to be the ones that lead it higher the next time. Until the leaders emerge, the market will go no where. Remember when ebay and qualcomm were in the 300s in the 90s.Well, they were leaders than, but not now. Recently, oil and oil servicers plus fertilizers like potash have been leaders.But when the market turns up these are not likely to be the leaders. History repeats itself over and over on leadership.
2) There needs to be big money investors. Look at the volume of the market on up days versus down days. You will see big money lacking.
3) Technicals. The S&P, Dow, and Nasdaq recently all broke below their 200 day moving average, bad sign for an uptrend. Until they regain their 200 day moving average, look for flat to lower prices overall. There will always be a few big up days, but if you're looking for a sustainable move, the 200day moving average must be regained. |

What's the rush. A lot of people have put in a lot of effort to bring the market down to its present level. These days there is a lot of pessimism and fear doing its rounds of the market.
However, to put your mind at rest; for every seller there is a buyer. Therefore, if the seller is in a rush to get out of the market, the buyer who is buying today is willing to wait for some time into the future depending on his investment horizon. The people who are buying these days are also called contrarians.
So its basically your call, whether you want to buy, sell or sit on the fence.

Definitely. These are correction which have a definite reason.
The main reason is the FLLs selling. They are selling because they need money even if their trades are in loss because of the US situations. But Markets will be ok in some months. |

We have to suffer through a few more weeks of a down cycle, but eventually these markets will turn around in mid-july. The market ALWAYS goes down during an election year. I happens every single election year like clockwork. Funny how that happens, huh?? |
