No, Bank of America did not write sub-prime mortgages. They are the only bank in the industry that did not get caught up in this mess.

No.

Bank of America is in good shape. In fact they just bailed out Countrywide because they felt it was an opportunity to get into the business on the cheap. Prior to that they had very little in the way of mortgage exposure of that nature

Net Advisor
If you are referring to whether BAC will become like BSC, I would argue a definite - no. I'll take the other side of that trade.

BAC doesn't have any subprime exposure and they are very well capitalized. Plus they charge an arm and leg on fees making billions a year with no risk.

I have posted red flags with WM, TMA, and C as ones to watch.

WFC is not at high risk compared to their peers in my view. Read up on the financials.

The continued support of the FED with lower Fed Funds rates and increasing the liquidity in the markets are helping banks with this pain.

No! Bank of America ("B of A") just bought out Countrywide. If they were worried about their capital position, they wouldn't be buying other companies.

I sure hope not. I have some money in there.

No. Unless you have something to support that. I don't think we will see any more bailouts. People need to stop fueling these recession thoughts, it doesn't help.
