General opinion is that we are entering a recession.
Typically these last 3 to 5 years = so I would think any recovery is likely to be at least that far away .. |

I still dont think that the entirety of the american bad loans issue has fed thru, and even if it has there are still questions looming over the UK and National Rock and the impact of bad loans here and particularly in China where growth is still too high to fund further business growth.
There will always be winners and losers but this isnt a good time and 2008 is likely to be a tough year right the way from employment opportunities, to house prices, and the money markets.
The bank of england is also under pressure to reduce interest rates, and i think this is highly unlikely to stem borrowing [quite the opposite]. We will see more money spent on credit card purchases which will have the counter effect on inflation. Combined with high fuel oil, gas and electric, the bubble is about to burst and likely to cause disinvestment which will drive equity prices down further. |

all trends show negative growth for the next 6 months...so I don't think the stock market will do any better...but I do think the economy will improve somewhat and the stock market will recover some losses toward the end of the 3rd quarter. |

I would not gamble upon a significant recovery but hopefully the market will stabilise. It is a worldwide problem and it all depends whether the US actually goes into recession for if it does we will undoubedly follow. |

that all depends on job number and consumer spending..
thing will slow down and would be worse than last year, but shouldn't be as bad as right now.. if you have money you don't need for the next 12 month i'd start buying incrementally |

But alas.................. no crystal ball. I DO hope so as it will affect EVERYONE not just those who play the stockmarket. It will affect company pensions and people's lives in general. |
