Well, historically democrats have led to upturns in stock market. However this time the issues are more fundamental to the deteroriating. US economics, financial sector turmoil and its repurcurssions on the main street. Democrats do not have a clear plan on how to revive economy. Hence it should not impact the trajectory much. For that matter, the way it is going, democrats seem to be coming to power and market must have included that factor, with a probability, already in the stock valuation. That's. My view! |

If Obama's in watch out. The man has no idea what he's doing and is
presently programmed as what to say during a debate or while campaigning. The market is around 8300 now and if he's elected
expect it to be around 2500 within a year. 401K's will just be a thing of the past and will no longer really exist. |

Probably not. The consensus among most top economists is that the market is currently tanking because people are expecting Obama to get into office. He wants to raise capital gains taxes to absurd levels on investment earnings so people are cashing out before they have to pay his tax rates.
If he does in fact get elected, it will probalby continue to slide. If McCain gets elected it will likely recover quicker because people will jump back in and hope to make money since his capital gains taxes are a lot less oppressive. |

I am afraid much of the recent loss is due to Obama being up in the polls. If, God forbid, he gets elected, we are in for a world of hurts!!! He loves the tax and spend mentality more than any other Dem we have ever had in office- and some of them have been pretty bad. If that happens, watch the money start flowing out of our country by the bucket loads!!!
Our economy will ed up looking like that of the Mexican economy in no time. |
