In times of recession, the stock market going down, the economy slowing down and a weak dollar....is it best to put my money in gold stocks at this time? do they perform well in this type of environment?
If the FED keeps dropping rates, the dollar will continue to fall in value and that will trigger the price of gold to rise. Historically speaking, during recessions gold tends to hold its value better than the stockmarket.

As of now gold is going up. It is best if we treat it as a trade. Buy it when you get a signal and sell it when you get a signal.
If you don't have any particular trading signals I strongly suggest you get some. This could make you profits and protect from a drop to the down side even in a recession.
