Wow! After all the economic turmoil and panic this week, can you believe the Dow is only down 34 points?
For the week that is.

Yes, because they're just trying to stall long enough to get in the lifeboats and leave the rest of us on the Titanic... They're even encouraging people to buy (let the band play on) with their rhetoric, "Warren Buffet got rich buying in times like these." Times like what? When have we ever in history been 500 trillion dollars in debt?

Our government just tossed out the constitution...
banning short selling on financials? And, you call this the Free market? What happens when this fails...? You get, No short-covering rally. Triple Witching will be extremely volatile now... (one of the reasons they should have waited at least until next week for their latest "bailout")

(UnConstitutional)
JP Morgan/Bear Stearns = Monopoly
Bank of America (MBNA/Countrywide/Merril Lynch) = Mega-Monopoly But, it's ok because we're "not" in a recession just a "once in a 100 years crisis" according to Alan Greenspan.

Go sell those tickets for last year's World Series to some other idiot.

I know its hard but americans need to have more faith in the free Enterprise. If we start spending money like we used to the economy will get better. I know what happened to AIG is bad but that was their own fault, And I know that with the gas prices its hard to spend that extra dollar on a candy bar. We should not be scared because AIG fell. we should just move on and keep trading goods and services.

i think the bailout was a good thing because we would have lost more then stocks in the market

I have faith in the American Economy. To be optimistic, because what goes down, must eventually go up(unless Obama gets the Presidency)Then all bets are off(along with American business)

Its cause we live in a great country and the government cares. People need to stop saying the government sucks.

if you see the graphic of this week you can see strong interlinear gap..it was very easy understand that the market in a few time would have recovered all the losses..
if you want some more Technical explanation about the interlinear gap write...i am here..

Yes I can believe it. The markets are a weird place to bet or place your money. When the news broke about Monica Lewinsky & Bill Clinton, the market took a brief nose dive. They interviewed a market trader for his reason why and he said. "Investors worried that with the news about Ms Lewinsky being a problem for (now former) President Clinton, he would have less time to devote towards running the country and the economy would suffer.

The thing that makes that funny is it really does not matter who is president or not. Most do not understand that the US president has less to do on average with the economy then people think. The markets are fueled by investors notions about consumers spending and investing habits on a day to day basis.

Nope, but I am still skeptical. I think there will be other repercussions from government bail outs.
