Well, there are a lot of people making a mockery of a good forum for knowledge. The spelling/grammar is atrocious. I've seen a lot of people just leave one or 2 worded answers and lately I've been seeing them sending links to other websites and no questions.
I personally take the time when I answer a question to spell correctly, use proper grammar, and give an educated answer with links for more information.
I'm afraid that there are a lot of people out there who don't take this site seriously. Things you can do? Well, you can rate their answers with a thumbs down. You can report them for abuse (there's a pull down menu as to what type of abuse you're reporting and it's annonymous) You can tell those who can't put a sentence together or spell that they first need to get an education. I've been letting people know lately because it really irks me. I realize that not everyone is an ace speller or writer, but my 4th grader can do circles around a lot of these writers.
And finally, you can continue to contribute intelligently and help those who are serious about their questions.

I think that as Yahoo! Answers has become more popular, more people who are only interested in gaining points have joined. Thus, there is a new abundance of people who post random answers for questions. Kudos to all of you who actually contemplate your answers before sending <3 |

Well it is open territory here on Yahoo Answers. You can not take any-ones answers to serious here. I don't think any-one is stupid, OK maybe some are.
I think they don't read the question completely before they give their answer. The others are just having fun here.
Any-one who is really looking for an answer would do better research.
Example: What are the ring's of Saturn made of?
Wouldn't it be just as easy to search for rings of Saturn and start reading? |

Yes your right, I've noticed that people give one lines or some silly thing like, I dunno. or like you said it may not even have anything to do with what you asked. I always try and give informative answers and if I don't know anything about the Q I won't answer, cos I don't wan to give a wrong answer. |

Gypsyday is so right. The part that gets me anymore is the dumb questions. I wonder how these people make it through the day. Why would someone come on here and ask things like, " How do I cash a check" or "Can I buy a new car with no credit and no job and I live under a bridge" I really spend alot of time finding true questions that people need help with that I can answer and help. I get so tired of the idiots. |
