You know how silver is going up in price......?
does that mean silver coins are more valubale? thx

Steve
Yes and if you have any, don't sell them yet, as silver keeps going up. If you do decide to sell them, don't sell them to a jeweler, they screw you. Sell them on ebay or to a collector and make sure it is sold at no less than the melt value

We actually buy silver coins all the time for investment... mercury dimes (pre 1965) are worth over a dollar each and yes they are valuable, to tell the true worth of things always look on eBay because it's what people are actually willing to pay!

Yes, that definitely means silver coins go up in price. Currently, dealers will pay about 11-12 times face value for silver coins (typically about 60% of spot price). If the coins are in Excellent to Mint shape, you will get much more. The price I have quoted is "junk silver" -- basically, they just add up the face value of the coins and do not care about condition.

Currently spot is near $20/ounce. If spot goes to $40/ounce, you will get 22-24 times face value. So a Ben Franklin half dollar would be worth about $11-12 if spot goes to $40/ounce.

Absolutely and so are gold coins. So you should have bought last year. But there is more value in collectible coins than just the silver content, so some go up more than others.

Yeah. Check out who is buying silver mines in South Africa. Purchase the coins in 1/10 value is a safe bet.

Yes, of course.

But then, I am a rocket scientist. So don't feel bad if you missed it.
