£100 stolen from bank account help?
I used my a ATM on high street outside nightclub NYE about 8pm then i lost my purse and it was returned to me the next day with my bank card and drivers licence. But somebody has withdrawn £100. Nobody knows my pin is this a type of fraud that has happened to me. I have a crime number and have cancelled my card. Have i any chance of getting my money back.

Probably not. Did you ask your bank about this? And have you changed your pin? As that's probably the more important thing.

spring_rainbows
yes this is fraud and you should receive all your money back from your bank once they have checked it was a unauthorised withdrawl. takes them a couple of days to a week but they should then credit the money back to your account and remove any fees you might receive for going overdrawn etc. contact your bank, and make a claim with them to reclaim the money.

Its going to be very difficult to prove that the money was stolen as you have got your card back. Obviously there will be a time on a statement that the money was drawn out. If there is a camera on that particular ATM its possible to find out who took the money from your account. Good luck and I hope you get it back

call your bank and let them know what happened they might credit your account for your missing money

well they could have gone to the bank over the counter and signed for it forging your signiture. What you need to prove is where you were at the time of withdrawal so then they can see it wasn't you. Also ask the branch to check CCTV at the time and take in your photo ID etc... to prove that you were not in the branch at the time.

Generally speaking banks don't refund if a pin has been used. Theress normally no way to prove it wasn't you or someon acting on your behalf. But I would still contact them first, fill out all the necessary forms, then I would go to the bank who's atm you used and find out if they have any security cameras over there machines. Also, get your bank to find out exactly where- bank and branch, and when- date and time, the card was used- they'll need to ring a number but they can find out this information. This means that if the branch had cameras over the atm's you'll be able to see who took the money out. It's still not a guarantee but hopefully they'll be able to help you. Someone may have been standing close behind you when you took the money out and been able to see your pin- which is how they'd know it. This kinda thing would show on the video... Also make sure you change your pin as soon as possible..

It'll be difficult, but a crime has been committed so call your bank

Snakeman !
The thief MUST have got your PIN from SOMEWHERE !

I ALWAYS use a number that no-one else would be able to guess - whether they knew me or not - AND I change it every three months !

Vix T
You need to speak to your bank, although there's no real way you can prove that you didn't lift the money before your purse was stolen.

THE DUDE
NO, not really.
Maybe just maybe you spent it, or I don't know, the person who found the purse/returned purse, could be two different people got at the loot.

If you give your pin away it's very unlikely you'll get money back, so hard to prove you didn't take it out pissed. I believe in you anyway so good luck with
that, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I WORK FOR THE BANK, AND THERES NO WAY U'LL BE ABLE TO CLAIM IT BACK, THE WAY THE BANK SEE IT IS U SHOULDNT HAVE GAVE OUT UR PIN, SORRY

lnknprkbabe84
if they have drawn it out from the atm, then no you arent entitled to get it back, if however it has been used on the net then you are entitled to get it back
