I need help.
I'm going to Boston for a trip and we have to fly there from where I live. I'm also needing to save for a Kids Denali Northface, A new Verizon cell phone and a 2 yr. Contract thats $49-$60 per month, depending on the contract. I need to get all of this by September. I know this seems early but all of this totally is around $1,200. Not including the per month thing. I need to find a way to make money by then. Right now I've paid about $350 for my trip. I don't need a northface now since its spring nor a phone till July/August. The worst part is, my dad may lose his job while my mom can make only $10.95 an hour. This may seem selfish of me but I'm not. This is by far the most selfish thing I've done in my life. So what ways can I make money? I've saved about $30 now. Please don't say Lemonade Stand or Do papers, Lemonade//Those sales are prohibited where I live and my Broter also has the paper job. What else Can I do?

Props to you for wanting to make your own money for the things you want. On top of that, with your dad possibly losing his job, maybe you can help your mom find something that has a better pay (unless she's already educated about that stuff... then nevermind).

What about House Sitting? Dog Walking? You can also run errands for people. My nephew is 10 and he posted signs in his apt complex saying he'll take people trash out, help garden or other small task. How about bathing peoples dogs? Bake cookies and sell them at school. I used to go to Sams Club (Or Costo) and buy the huge things of Candy bars king size (Hershey's, Twixt, Snickers, those kinds) for like 10 bucks which contained like 25 bars and sell them at school for 1.00 each... It was a fundraiser for my car which I bought cash on my 16th birthday. |

selling things on ebay..things around your house that you dont want..I have a red jacket I could sell to you for when you go camping I know you didnt mention it but I figured its good for cold weather days, sorry no pics yet Im moving stuffs packed to describe it its by a company called "mountain hard wear"womans large" I hardly wore it becasue my arms are too long for it ..its worth about "240..I can let it go for much less to you..I understand how it feels to be young and trying to save for this and that....
you could buy stuff at thrift shops even an old phone then put a sim card in it to have pre paid minutes..
either way good luck to you and remember to save all yuor money try to to plurge on goofy unnecessary stuff trust me its not worth it..and maybe you should think about the stock market investing, or gold, trustfund type stuff the partents should help you out with that..do you sing.dance,skate,act, ect..you might have more potential than you realize you just have to burst your way into something then stay focused on it full force, investing in hemp is good I like hemp clothing, its all I want now..if you started a little hemp business making things then you could start selling it n stuff..ok good luck dear..by the way pleasse dont sing any contracts that might put you in debt when you get older ..your best bet now I think is pre paind phone..you pay for your own minutes are in control of how you spend them..its better than being stuck in a contract ..trust me I have debts from atat, sprint and others that are haunting me ..I will feel do much betterr when they are all paind...so much better..oh my goodness |

Baby-sitting is the easiest thing for me to do (I'm 14 too), especially when you find a fairly steady job. But you can look around for internships (they sometimes pay, but it all depends). Also, MacDonalds hires people when they are young. But, baby-sitting is the easiest thing to do. You can talk to your teachers who have kids to see if you can work for them. My initial suggestion is to help your brother with his paper route and ask for half the cash.
Other things that I would suggest is to go outside your neighbothood (which sounds like a gated community) and offer yard help or shoveling if it's snowy where you're at.
If you're good at typing you can offer typing services for a small fee to the people in your grade at school.
Other things that are do-able is tutoring younger children if you're good at school. |
