Yep. You can get a debit card, so you can take money out of your bank account (these are easily obtainable)
but you cannot get a credit card, where you're using money you dont have that you have to pay back w/ interest.

It depends on what state. I know state of NY does not allow minor with visa/mc debit cards. Your best bet is to call your bank and ask them. |

I don't think that you can get a regular bank card, but there are several pre pay cards that are available. your parents may need to sign you up.

I only turned 15 in april.
And i've got a cash card.
The ones you can only use at a cash machine
but this summer.
my dad said that i could get a debit card.
So i'll be able to use it in shops
but it depends on which bank you have.
because different banks have different age limits.
and i dont think any bank will let 15 yr old have a card for the internet.
because it's a visa card you have to get i think

you can't get a credit card, but you can get a debit (sp?) card. I have one, and it is super nice. I know how much money I have in my account, and I can just use my card instead of lugging around cash. |

yes you can.
Halifax do an account which gives you a visa electron card so that you can use chip and pin, also you have the facility of cash machines to withdraw money. |

When you open a bank account, you automatically get a debit card. But you won't get a credit card yet. And it is a good thing. You don't want to start spending before you can start earning. Credit card debt is the worst kind of debt you can get into. |

i tried doing that as well but nope you have to be 18
u dont know how mad i got u can get a kiddy 1 which u can use in SOME shops
just tell ur mum to make an account and u use the card :P
EDIT: how many of you have actually tried this I HAVE lol I KNOW what im talking about (this is in UK- dunno where you are)
