I would give it to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. They are an amazing organization, providing everything for free to the patients and the families, not to mention their research into children's diseases. I used to live in Memphis and watching their telethon every year will move you to reach into your pocket and give them the money that they need. |

I would start my own charity so I'd know how the money was being used. The charity's focus would be to provide education to Africans who have great potential, but lack resources and opportunities.
I would focus on both primary school education as well as providing opportunities for those students with promise to continue their education beyond high school. I would highly encourage graduates of the program-- whether high school or college graduates-- to find ways to use their new-found education and opportunities to help build up the rest of their community.
I know those are broad strokes, and there would be a lot of details to work out. But that's a general idea of what I would want to do. |

Well, it certainly wouldn't be a UN related charity, since that money seems to line more pockets than aid the poor and needy.
I guess I would have to choose the William and Melinda Gates Foundation. They have a strong track record of working to cure diseases around the world.
And if it's good enough for $35 billion of Warren Buffett's money, it would be good enough for me! |
