it's doubtfull its a bank error
you need to check with your employer, as they wll recover any errors normally , so you will owe what you spend
are ou sure its not a tax rebate or something ? you NEED to check |

dont spend it!
when your company realises the mistake theyll take it back, or not pay you until youve worked the hours to earn the money they gave you.
It happened to my mate at work, he was paid 3 grand then had to miss a few pay days till he'd worked it off. |

no you dont need to go to your bank as it wasnt an error on their behalf but instead your work place
Since it was your work place that paid you extra then they will eventually find out.
You dont need to tell them and if they ask just say you werent aware as your dont check your account
But in any case like this they will ask you to pay the money back to them
OR they will just deduct the money from your pay slip every month until the full amount is paid back to them, which means you could lose out in the end
i would suggest you keep your mouth shut and transfer half the money into an ISA or another account which is high in interest that way.. when your work realises the error then you havent spent any of the money and if they ask you to pay it back then you will be able to and you can also keep any interest you earnt with it from the other account.. then everyone would be left smiling :) |

tell the bank, if you spend it, you will only have to repay it. |

It doesnt have anything to do with the bank, its the company who has paid it mistakenly. I dont know your legal rights but I have a feeling that if you do spend it and the company realises their mistake then you may have to pay it back. Maybe keep it for a while and see if anyone notices first. I mean its a lot of money to pay back if you only earn 100 a week. |

It could be a simple explanation! You perhaps work part time for your employer and if you have done for many years perhaps its back dated holiday pay that you have never taken or been told you should recieve? Or a bonus as stated!
The problem with taking it out and spending it is that as you kinda dont think that you should have it, therefore you could not claim that you accepted it in good faith! This being the case, if spent, you would be required to pay the money back! Your employer would negotiate, so you could bpay it back at x amount a week! But whats the point own up, and they may let you keep part of it for being homest! Call it a "finders fee"!!!

bank transfers can easily be done and undone, so hold onto it dont spend or you could find yourself 650 overdrawn in a week..... plus as you have admitted its not yours its an offense to not remedy it.....
so keep quiet and see what happens. dont move it though or find o/d fees building up. |

You wont get into any trouble if you keep it, but it will be recovered later, it happened to me when I started my new job, I thought it was correct but I was over paid, they took it back at a agreed amount each month. |

basically we have a large deposit of moneys in your accounts and the elephants are poopings on it. so i need your bank account details to empty your account of the elephants and removings the poopings manually. |

sorry buddy but it is in your best interest to tell your work. My hubby was paid 2 weeks wages instead of a standard 1(which we totally blew just treating ourselves and the kids.... :S) as a result the next week when he wasn't paid and he questioned it with his boss there was nothing he could do so that was us skint for a week.... I'd hate you to be skint for what could be 6 weeks because you blew this money without querying it....... Bear in mind though, its not long since the start of the new tax year, could it be a tax rebate through your work????? |

Don't spend it, whoever is at fault. You will have to repay it after. |

withdraw it put it in a seperate account, ideally for 7 years and then deny knowing about it. Technically its theft if you don't give it back if they ask for it. |

SPEND IT !
Though you will have to pay it back NO INTEREST (well i don't think so)
Wayhay!!!!!!!!!!
They might not notice, oh no.
Stock takes accountants maybe they will find out next tax year OOPS too late. They should pay you more anyway. Then again they may give you a reward for being honest. Up to you really (I would tell them really but I'm daft) HAVE A PARTY lol
Is it a small company? Are you thinking of getting a new job? Can they afford to 'lose' it? Theyre own fault spend, spend and spend. |

Its a mistake....
Please don't spend it as you will have to return it !!
If it was your companies fault, let them know. If its the banks, then they'll
notice it soon enough and take it back, if you took it out and it was the
banks doing then you'll be into an unplanned OD etc which will cost you. |

Tell your payroll department.
Don't spend it. Taking something that isn't yours is called stealing. Don't try to justify it. |
