You would prefer for her to cash it first, then give you the money or a check from her.
You will need to check with your bank/credit union. Some dont accept 3rd party checks & you are stuck.
The 2nd thing is, if the check is no good, it bounces out of YOUR account & YOU get a fee & still are out the $.
Let her deal with it & just tell her your bank wont do 3rd party. |

She has to endorse it (sign it) on the back, then you sign under her name. Then you can cash it. |

If your friend signed the back of the check already, then you may sign your name and deposit it. Hopefully it clears, otherwise it will mess up your account. Why didn't you just ask for cash if you were hesitant. I think that was kind of inconsiderate of your friend. |

If she owes you more than the amount of the check, make sure that it does not say "Paid In Full" or it releases her from the additional debt. Otherwise, you can cash it assuming you believe the check is good. |

you can cash it if someone is willing to cash it for you. I sure wouldn't. The only way you can cash it in a bank is if you have a checking account or deposit it to your account.
I'd call the bank the check was made on to see if there's enough funds in that account, because if you deposit it, to your account, or cash it, and it's no good, then the bank is going to deduct the money from the check plus thirty five dollars for insufficient funds. This is assuming you even have an account at a bank.
And if you don't have an account, I'm sure nobody , unless you have a real good friend is going to be dumb enough to cash it. |

it might depend on the bank you currently use , but it is possible for her to sign the check over to you and then you could sign the checl for deposit into your account. is there some reason why she cannot deposit or cash the check for you....??? |
