Dark A | A question about ATMs..? |
Let's say I got 120.00 bucks(random number) in my bank account.
Can I retire all of that 120.00 bucks from a ATM machine at once?
Since the ATM machine have a fee, would that mean I would actually have like 117$ thus allowing me to only withdraw 100$?
Thanks <-- Very confused ATM user. |

NO!!! If you have only $120, and if you take out $120 from the ATM, then you will overdraw your account. They will never calculate down. It is more convenient for the bank to overdraw your account, that way they get their fee and the overdraft fee. They want to make more money, so this will be a trap.
Be careful. It is never a good idea to take all the money out. Always have at least a $200 cushion or something similar.
Good luck. |

If you were to withdrawl all of the balance, then be charged a fee, that would actually put you into the negative and cause you to bounce. Not fair, but banks don't like to play fair.
If they don't charge a fee, like if it is your home bank, then as long as you have zero pending transactions, I believe you can. At mine you can anyhow, but different banks have different policies. |

While some will let you deplete the entire amount, others will deny the request. If you have overdraft protection, you can get the full amount and be charged a fee. If you do not have over draft, the ATM will simply tell you the funds you requested are not available.

yes you can pull all of lt out but you may go into overdraft a few buck or maybe a buck |

You must have enough available in the bank to cover the withdrawl + the atm fee.
ie if the total fees are $3, the atm allows withdrawls in $20 increments, and you have $120, you would be allowed to withdraw $100. |

This will depend on your bank and their guidlines on your type of account. Some banks will cover you to withdraw the full amount while others will deny.....check your deposit account agreement to see what your banks guidlines are. |

You got that exactly right. It would only let you take out $100. Unless your at YOUR BANK, then you wouldn't have to pay those ATM fees. |

atms go with a minimum of ten so if you have 120 you can get 110 and allow the other 10 for the fee and have like 7 left unless you have overdraw protection and then you can get the full 120 but youll be minus 3 or so in ur account that you'll have to make up at some point. hope that helps. |

It depends on the ATM and Your Bank
However, the ATM will most likely allow you to take the full $120. However, this will also most likely, generate an overdraft at your bank because of the ATM fee. Thus having a negative balance and then that negative balance will grow because most banks charge an overdraft fee. I have seen them as high as $30. You could end up owing the bank money.
I would recommend going into the bank and closing the account with a teller (living person) then receive the full amount in the account with no problems. Just make sure that there are no outstanding transactions that have not cleared the account, yet. |

Yeah, you can only get 100 out. Otherwise you might overdraw your account. |

The bank I used to work at and the bank I use now will allow you to take up to $500.00 in the negative, so be careful how much you are taking. There is a $36.00 fee. |
