It's a set up. she is probably not even from England.
Think about it. Would you give someone a cheque to put into their bank account and then trust them to forward the money to you...
I bet she also needs your bank account number as well, ,,so she can clear out your balance |

Are you serious? Sounds like a cast iron scam and I wouldnt touch it with a bargepole. Or you could do as some have done and agree to it but then turn the tables and really screw them around just for shits and giggles. But its definitely a scam. |

Of course it's a scam!
However, she also has a brother who was kicked out of the country for his political beliefs, but left 1.2 million in a bank account that she'll split with you. That one's real.

It is a scam. The cheque will be recalled up to a month later. You are then out of pocket. It is also money laundering and your bank may well close your account. |

First of all, how do you know she is from Africa or England? And why does she need you to cash a cheque? Why can't she do it herself?
Answer -- she needs it to go through your bank account to facilitate money laundering. She needs you to accept the cheque into your account, to keep her name off the transaction, and then she needs the funds sent to her in Africa, so that they are not traceable from the 'ex boss' who is probably another criminal working in tandem with her, and trying to hide where money has come from.
Don't do it. There are laws against money laundering in most countries, especially so now that money laundering can be used to aid terrorists. Don't do it. |

scam - tell her you won't be any part of it, and she should pay in the cheque herself in africa (which she won't because the cheque doesn't exist yet because they haven't photocopied and changed it, and because it sounds like she probably hasn't been employed over here anyway) |
