almost everyone is middle class. if you even own ONE computer, you are middle class. poor people can barely afford food and clothing, heat, pay the bills, etc. you are extremely lucky! be happy! |

depends on where you live... if you live in a large city in California you would be someone on the borderline of poor and middle.
The Average California male living alone with no dependants needs $30,000 a year to live comfortably but i read this back in like 2002 or something. |

Not sure how old you but you seriously have no idea what your parents bills are. they might have credit cards out of the azz and they might be charging the groceries...If they both work and are making 25k a year I doubt that they have degrees....so they could very well be a paycheck away from being homeless....like most of the world.
Four computers I guess is nice but hardly a standard of wealth since walmart had computers after thanksgiving for 250.00.
Who knows what your apartment rent is or how much of your parent's income it costs to live there.
do they or can they save money for a rainy day

I guess you dont live in a major city..in Chicago or Maryland, you could live in subsidized housing on 50k.

Your family may be classified as Middle Class but I think your life should be classifed as Rich & Fulfilled. Your parents can pay the bills, fill the fridge, & give you love. Life doesn't get much better than that. Let them know how much you appreciate them & tell them you love them. |

their technically middle. but in america 50,000 for four people not including the other 2 kids are what are classified as the working poor. But who cares, it seems like your family are taking care of business and as long as you don't lack what you need or lack love you are richer than alot of people. |

You're definitely middle class. The poverty level for a family of four (two parents and two kids they take care of) is $21,200 per year. If they're making $50,000 they are well above the poverty threshhold, and can obviously afford necessities as well as luxuries such as the computer. No one will accuse you of being "rich," but you're definitely not "poor." |
