Any one got rid of al their credit cards?
If you are like me, you may be fed up with all the data that credit card co's are building up on . Anyone ever gone cardless and rely only on cash? Sounds like heaven!

Yep. Some years back.
Hubby and I are on a cash only basis. If we don't have the money, we don't get it. We keep a small bank account for emergencies (auto repair, etc). I do have a debit card, but as other person said ... that is like writing a check, but easier.

There are occassional drawbacks ... but very very few compared to credit.

I didnt decide to give mine up, the bank decided to take them back.

Never had a credit card! It's the best way! Less bills at the end of the month & no interest on things I buy!

And yes, it is heaven!

alinurse99
Got rid of all credit cards & kept debit card with visa on it. Not a credit card but still don't have to carry cash. Its a nice feeling not having any.

Yes, Me!

I had one, but I used it to the Max
and it got rid off automatically!!
..... the bank called 20,000 times
..... every day when I worked people told me "don't work too hard for 20,000 times.

I will never hold another!

When-ever I see the AD....
"For Everything else there is the Mastercard"
I close my eyes or say
"For Everything else, there is the work!"

i gave up mine 3 years ago but they kept phoning me and increasing credit limit. i then got made redundant and began using them again and now i'm in the s**t. I should've stuck to no credit i was better off then.

Yes I finally got rid of mine this year and it is fantastic not to have that plastic headache. I have a visa card for my bank but I pay for everything in cash or a cheque and it has taken all the worry out of it and also cut down on spending. A card becomes a habbit and it is difficult to break but once done you will get used to it.

I'm 36, I've never had a credit or debit card in my life. I have two cards that are cash only from the ATM, no money in the account means no money out of the wall.

I am 100% cash only excepting I use chewued but ONLY counter cheques that again, rely on there being money in my account.

I paid for my car cash... Nice result there, I pay for everything cash, and regularly get much better workmanship, and a reduction in price.

It's not heaven, but it's better than credit and spending on the never never.

Debt Line
The law does protect you against information being held on you that is not essential for the credit card companies and banks to manage your accounts.

You have a right to see all of the information that is held on you by the banks and card companies and if there is anything on there that is unnecessary, incorrect, or over 6 years old you could get it removed.

yes, I have not used a credit card in over 6 years. I rely on cash or a check ( rarely, just for big ticket items ) and I am much more aware of my cash flow and I never spend more than I have and I am out of debt. It works

Yes i dont that, got rid of all cards, not through chopice i might add, but its so much better without them

nickname4anne
im not getting rid of em-cause i never felt like overpaying for anything that i couldnt afford anyways- and it is heaven-i dont worry about building up my credit cause i dont need to-i only want things that i can truly buy right off the bat- if i cant, i save---it sure as hell beats paying a third more in the long run---but as far as the info dillema, honey, they have satellites that see everything, all the time now.......sleep well. ;)

I wish i could.. i have a few debts here and there.

However, i don't use them anymore.. just paying off the debts that i do have.

I have to say, i feel more of a degree of satisfaction and control when i pay with a card from my bank account.. you're consious of what you are spending.

Credit cards are a far too easy way of getting yourself into instant trouble!!

srracvuee
no i think the use of credit cards is an absolute gift its so easy and convenient. the people who have a problem are the ones who use the card with nothing in the bank to back it up

Gordon
Tried one once got ripped of by the card company in the form of "charges"
Have managed perfectly well without one for the last 20 yrs.
get rid now free your cash..........

The card business is controled by jews and someone told me the saturn appears in the horizon and from USA it covers the whole planet to make every one slave.

Have No Cards and U are freed from slavery.

Someone in the answer said it is convineant and has enough money in the bank.

If he has enough money why do U need a card. Slave.

I have never had a credit card, and never intend to.
I am 29 btw, I have a mortgage, a sports car, two horses, two dogs and everything I could possibly need to live. The combined income from myself and my partner is £30,000 per annum.
You DO NOT need credit cards to have nice things. you just need to be adult about what you can and cant afford.
