if you work, make your own savings account (if you don't already have one at a bank). put so much toward savings and so much toward spending. if it's a rainy day, you will always have some money, just in case. also, think about what you are buying when you buy it. ask yourself, "do i really neeeeed this?" if majority of the items that you are purchasing are only being used 0-30% of the time or in other words, if you only wear a top you bought only once, stop buying those types of items.
we all have problems when it comes to spending, you just have to stop and analyze the situation. |

open a savings account and don't touch the money you put in there.
start a goal you want to reach in your savings account, and keep putting some money each week....lets say like $20 a week.
Then within the year see how much progress you made and save money. |

Buy the things you want and then let them sit in your house for a week. If you still want/need them, keep them. If you realize that you don't really want/need them, take them back. You get the gratification of buying the things you want, but you will not end up spending as much money. |

A few tips:
make lists before you go to the store. Buy ONLY what is on that list. It can help with impulse buying a bit.
When budgeting, set aside an amount that goes into savings.
Pick something you really want that's high ticket, and save for it- you'll get practice that way in saving.
When you've saved some money, take a small amount and have fun with it, such as go to a movie. Little incentives help you to try and do better. |

Don't spend your loose change. Or better yet, don't spend your ones. Put them all in a jar or whatever and every time you go to the bank, deposit what you've saved in a savings account.
Or have money from your payroll check or checking account automatically deposited into a savings account.
Don't link a debit or ATM card to your savings account. Make it as difficult to access as possible so you won't be tempted to spend.
Another thing you can do is sign-up for paid survey or email sites and deposit all of your earnings into a savings account. My favorite is: https://www.opinionoutpost.com/join?affiliateId=af3467-3736
All these little things add up. You'll be surprised how much you save. |

i can give you a thousand ways but the truth of the matter is, you can not save unless you control yourself from spending. |
