Once again I risk being unpopular. You want the job to come to you. Step outside your door and turn left or right. Proceed to the closest business. Ask them for a job. Explain just like waht you did to millions on the internet. Keep doing this until you have a job. Quit making excuses like you don't have a GED. You are the reason that thousands of Mexicans are flooding across the border everyday. If you don't follow my advise one of them will get the job you did not apply for. How many of them have GED's? |

check your local labor pool, you can usually get paid daily on these jobs, but you can't be too choosy about what kind of work you are willing to do. |

Retail, hospitality... just about anything a high school student would be hired to do. Working as a waiter/waitress is probably as well-paying a job as you will find -- other than bartending, if you know how to do that. |

Anyplace where they would hire a teenager, like fast food places or many stores, restaurants, movie theaters. You could work in a hotel as a desk clerk or in housekeeping. Don't be too proud to take any honest work. Everyone has to start somewhere! Here are links to lists of some local businesses and hotels that you could check out as potential employers. Good luck! |

Most hotels, restaurants, and service places will hire you. You could also work construction. You could try going to a day-labor place. Show up every day, work hard, and don't make waves and it might lead to a permanent position. (They say you aren't supposed to do that, but everybody does) |

Fast Food is all that I know of and around here if you are over 18 they won't hire you. Try Labor temp agencies. Good Luck. |

Well you can probably get any job that allows to hire high school students, as they also have no GED or HS Diploma. You could work for a landscaping company, McD's, A hotel foodservice area, or you could do some babysitting. Id look around the newspaper for some entry-level jobs and give them a call and ask what their education requirements are. |

Check the loading docks at truck yards and ship yards. Some of this is part time, but I understand that they pay fairly well.
Also, security guard work might be OK. If you have a night shift, they might let you study or read.
The other answer that suggests that you try the military is a bit off base. The military services really want people that have completed their high school. After you get your GED, this might be the THING for you. |
