Congratulations. |

Make sure the Bank or DMV sends you your title and/or promissory note. Also, call your insurance company and let them know that there is no lien against the vehicle. That may reduce your premium rate. You may also want to increase your deductible now that the bank does not mandate a lower one. This too will reduce your insurance premium. |

Depends on what you now own... If it's american muscle... time to mod it into greatness... Forge the motor, add a big blower or turbo, get rid of the cats and be prepared to replace everything in the drive line ;)
If it's a grocery getter... go get yourself some american muscle. |

Open a bank account that is separate to your everyday account, and have what you'd pay on the car loan put into that account. Try to get an account that gets a decent level of interest, so you earn money on your money.
Since you're already used to living on less money, this is the perfect time to start saving some of your wage. Your mind is already attuned to living on that amount.
When you save a few thousand, go to a financial planner and invest what you've saved, so that you have a nest egg. If you ever get into trouble, like you lose your job or need to pay medical bills, this will be your emergency money.
However, take ONE of those "payments" and spoil yourself. Well done at clearing your debts.
Debt is a bad thing. It should be used carefully. Please don't use debt to buy another car. You will always pay far more for the car than you would if you paid cash with your savings.
Best wishes |

Celabrate a little, and then....
Talk to your insurance agent and decide if makes sense for you to maintain the full coverage that was requird by you lender, or possibly increase your deductable so your premium goes down.
Congratulation on getting that monkey off your back!! |

Be sure to call the company that financed your vehicle to make sure they have sent you the title. Put the title in a safe place.
Congratulate yourself on being a responsible person.
It's not a bad idea to also fill out a will and decide who will get your car if you should pass away. (I suggest me. Just kidding).
I have a brand new car that's paid off and I'm only 38 years old. I filled out a generic will form and had it notarized to make it legal. I have no dependents so it would take a long time to figure out who would get the car. |

The bank will soon be mailing you the title. You should hang onto the car for a bit and put the amount of $ in monthly payments you were making into a savings account.
You'll be surprised how fast you can save money that way! |

Make sure you get the title. Put it in a safe place, not the glove box. Also let your insurance carrier know that there is no longer a lien on your car. |

Have the bank remove their name from the title under lien holder. |

Finacially speaking, it sounds like you're set. Make sure you keep paying car insurence and keep it parked near wherever you stay, you wouldn't want your hard-earned car to get busted or stolen without insurence. |
