I got an email from a very kind, and in my opinion entirely trustworthy Nigerian individual saying I won the Nigerian Lottery. I admit, I didn't buy a ticket, but I guess their lottery system is different to ours. He said he needs money just to pay admin fees etc. At first this was £5000. I figured, if I lost that amount, the risk:reward is good enough to justify it. The he said there was exchange release fees of £10000. I just about had it, and I paid it. Now he wants another £10000 which I will get back with the £16m in June 2008
I'm at my wits end. How do I get access to £10'000. I am so close to the £16m I can almost smell it. I've pawned my watch, an antique family heirloom, Casio calculator from the 1980s, and I have loan sharks maybe lending me the rest. The interest will be 35% pa. but with 16m I should comfortably pay that off !
what else can I do to raise the funds? any ideas? |

There is no Nigerian Lottery - you have been scammed and they have gotten all you assets.
You will never get back any of this money so don't be foolish enough to borrow money at 35% to give to these thieves.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, respond to any of the Nigerian emails, they are all scams.
Sorry, you have been taken in. There have been all sorts of TV programs, including Oprah, exposing these scams. Apparently Nigeria is the country with the most people promoting these scams. Every year they collect multimillion's of dollars from unsuspecting people like you. When they think they have gotten all they can get from you, they stop responding to your emails.
Cut your losses; stop sending money NOW. |

This is a scam! do not answer any correspondence or send any money or give out any personal information including bank account numbers, id numbers, drivers licenses, etc. If you already have sent any of this information, contact the local authorities and change your private information immediately.

Surely you are pulling our legs.
If not, you have to try to scam in reverse. Tell him that you just need to deposit some money to get a loan for more so he has to send you back X amount. Likely he's not stupid enough to send back the whole sum, but he might do part of it.
Other than that you have had an expensive lesson. |

If you already paid the guy money then you fell for a scam.....I get emails about this crap all the time.....
Theres been a warning that any email from Nigeria should be considered a scam and not to acknowledge them......
But if you paid then sorry dude...you just lost all that money you paid.....and no matter how much you pay the guy youll never see 16 mill......... |

This is a known scam. You won't receive anything except a drained bank account. No lottery has admin fees and certainly doesn't give money without a ticket? How will you know you won with no ticket and no means of entering it. Don't waste your time or money or your bank account, delete that email, immediately. Google Nigerian Lottery and you'll find that it will confirm exactly what I told you. |
