Yes.. you can apply for a credit card. If you have good credit other places you may be approved. The company would most likely approve you for a low limited amount though. Try this unless you already have an application:

If you apply, you will probably get the card. Your initial credit limit will probably be $500 to $1000. If you can't afford (fill in anything here) without a credit card, you can't afford (fill in the same thing here) at all. |

I doubt you would get it but if you are looking for a credit card, I WOULD NOT go with discover. We are having major problems with them right now because the raised our interest rate to 21.9% because of their universal default clause. The reason they stated is because our debt to income ratio changed (because we bought a house), yet we were never late to them and always paid more than what they wanted. |

first of all if you were planning on using the card in India according to discover they are really only good outside the USA is in Mexico.
i have learned that traveling overseas the best card is a debit card and it will still cost you 1% exchange fees.
hate to be a bearer of bad news looks like you will have to post pone your trip until you have saved up enough money -- for god's sake do not borrow it from some really high interest place that could break your arm if you do not pay back with your first born child. |

There are credit card issuers charge very high fees and issue cards but they may not give you enough credit to cover the trip.Nothing wrong in applying. |

try taking out a loan at prosper the interest rate will likely be much lower then any credit card.

of course you can apply for one, but you won't get one, especially one with a high enough credit limit with an income of only 10k/yr. You need a minimum of 15k to qualify I believe. However, there may be other cards, from rip off places like HBSC or Capital One you might qualify for. |
