Are most companies that promise prizes all scams?
companies that send promises of rewards for very little, how can I find out which are scams?

Stupid_Observer
It is not scam though it is mainly to bring attention. The prizes are the ones that you crave for and usually very costly. Say you buy a tooth paste for promise of a 10g solid gold chain. The mathematical problem here is that how many people must buy that product so that the cost of 10g gold becomes negligible in comparison to the gain in profit. The number turns out to be big enough so that mostly people are dissappointed and the whole stuff looks like a scam. The probability of winning is very close to zero.

There is no definite way to predict if an offer is a scam but you can safely ignore any offer if you don't care about the product.

I think so just to get you to call a number and charge you so they get partial payment for it.

Edward B

Not ALL are but the majority out there want you to register to get your e-mail or tezt number or address . There is alot of reputable companies out there but they are in the minority .

abbie
most of them are scams if not all of them hidden charges like phone call prices you got to watch out 4

Sanjax
These are data collection and lead generation engines first and may or may not actually have a true prize associated with the promotion..i.e. it may be three months free after you sign up for a 3 year contract at a gym or maybe a free car that gets promised but is on a lease etc...scam or no scam, there is no free lunch anywhere in the world.

think about where they get their profit chances are if you cant think of an obvious way of making profit out of it its probably a scam

yes because nothing is ever for free there is always some kind of catch to everything....

When things are too good to be true then it is too good to be true.

Probably yes. Remember that there is no such thing as a free lunch, or anything else for that matter.

If you do not check a company before purchasing a product or service from it, you could lose your money, time and credibility. Some widely used resources are the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the national fraud center (www.fraud.org).

These days, you can easily find out more about a company using the Internet in a few minutes. From a company's website, you can get details about its ownership, how old the company really is and feedback from the company's customers.

You can find more detailed information about a company at
