I have been with nationwide for some years and as yet have had no problem with them. I have a set amount of overdraft and have gone into it but I think the tops Ive ever paid back in interest has been 20p with no extra charges. They are helpful polite and friendly. I can safely say I'm happy with them. |

Yes I have been with the Royal Bank of Scotland since 1972. In all that time they have never been out by even a penny in any of my statements.
Once years ago when I had a young family, I inadvertently became overdrawn by a few pounds. The cheeky b astards sent me a letter saying I had overdrawn without prior arrangement and not only were they going to charge me interest, they were also going to charge me 28 pounds FOR THE LETTER which I thought was a bit much. So I phoned up the manager and said I'd close the account immediately if he did not cancel the charge. Which he did, on the spot. To me, that's what makes them a good bank. Stuff like that.
Also they still have branches, where you can go in and talk to real people.
I can also use my Royal Bank of Scotland Highline card at any ATM in the uk. |

No I'm not happy with my bank, I went 15 pence overdrawn & was charged £35.00, even though my pension went into my account the next day |

I'm very happy with them.
I didn't choose them; my bank was taken over by another bank, and they just happen to be really good. |

Yes. My Westminster account went to National Westminster, then I went to lloyds because there wasn't a Nat West in the village I lived in. lloyds were absolute crap and about twenty five years ago I opened a Co-op account. They are definitely the best for service and their ethical approach is second to none. Not having many branches, they have telephone access, not free, and an excellent web service. I'd recommend them to everybody. |

I'm with Alliance & Leicester, I'm happier with them than the previous bank (Lloyds), but the transfer of the account with all the direct debits(worry free transfer)) didn't go well and a payment to the morgage company was missed(first ever) and the morgage company charged me £65 for tmissing a payment, and I was charged even more by A&L even though it was their fault. Another problem is that their account numbers have 1 digit more than a standard bank account number, that caused me to stop using Ebay as they wouldn't accept it. Having said that, the A&L on-line banking is quite good, but will still change when I've the time. |

Yes, I think because the bank has many branches and it is convenient. |t is flexible, it can arrange somebody to speak my language if I dont want to speak English. |

First of all the words "happy and service" create an oxymoron these days. If you go anywhere in the world you will be very lucky to get even a little smile, without the attitude, from an attendant whose job it is to provide service.
But at my bank the tellers always fill out my deposit slip because I do not want to fill mine out. They are even nice now and I do not have to make a fuss. After three years of hard work and frequent visits, they just go ahead and just fill it out for me.
I'd say that a long training period but with tenacity and diligence, I finally saw them learn. Washington Mutual good place. |

Yes I'm happy with my bank. I'm with the Halifax. They wont give me an overdraft but I suppose that's a good thing. |

Yes. I love them. Seriously. They really helped me when I was a student - didn't lend me too much money so I'd be in debt for the rest of my life, but didn't let me starve either. Helped me buy my first home. Have always been friendly, provided great service and are never, ever patronising. They really have helped to make life a lot easier and never make money scary which makes it a lot easier to stay in control of my finances.
My bank is HSBC by the way, and if you're wondering, no I don't work for them! |

I used to be very happy with my bank. Everything was free, and you'd get 5 free foreign ATM withdrawals each month. Then my bank was bought out and it's never been the same. Even the people that work there aren't happy. The network system is archaic and everything isn't free anymore. |
