Are you very careful with your money?
or generous, when it comes to giving it to other people?

e.g if you get a paper delivered,do you pay the exact amount or give them a bit extra?
or do you tip in restuarants?

I'm very careful with managing my budget. I always tip in restaurants and other services. I would not have services done, or eat out if I could not afford the gratuity

I would not give extra for a paper but I always tip well at restaurants...I should be more careful with my money but you only live once & it isn't going to do you any good when your dead.

IslaVistaLife
Unfortunately, I am generous and careless with my money. I'm getting better though. Learning from mistakes.

Al
VERY careful

For Andrew B: How can you not tip when you go out to eat? I don't care whether you believe in it or not! Servers make well below minimum wage! You're supposed to pay a tip for their service! If you have a bad server, don't tip. But if you have a good server, tip them. They're not being paid for the job they do, they're paid well below minimum wage. They are supposed to receive the amount they deserve from tips. Do you not realize this?! Their job is very difficult, if you don't believe this, try it sometime! I've never been a server, but my ex was. It's very demanding work. So Andrew B, if you don't believe in tipping, don't go out to eat! Buy fast food! It's unfair to all the servers that take care of you, if you don't even tip them!

As for me, I am a good tipper. However I am good with my money. I don't go out to eat very often, don't have a newspaper delivered, or buy things I dont' need. Because I can't afford it. But when I do go out, I do tip. Based on the service of course. I know how much they make, and if they do a good job they deserve a good tip.

Cali-Gal
Very careful, especially these days. I hold on to it as if a major earthquake will be happening tomorrow (metaphorically speaking). I don't go out to eat, I live too rural to have a paper delivered....and if I absolutely have to spend any money, it's for the best at the cheapest price. I recycle all of my cans, bottles and cardboard and cash it in for.....money. This is not saying that I am not generous, however. I do devote a helping hand and moral support in other ways other than money. I will volunteer time. Time is more precious than money.

Lily B
I should be careful..but unfortinately i am TOO generous

Abby Normal
I consider myself a decent tipper. Saying that, however, I'm awful with my finances.

eugene65ca
I am stingy with my money as I am on fixed income bue to my teaching pension being shorted as I was ousted from my teaching career as I was bisexual and it was deemed immoral in 1960 and I was unable to teach for 29 years until I got back my teacher's certificate.

I over tip and get a telling off from the wife for doing so.Never mind eh!

I'm not! Honestly I like to give fair but not exceed amount of money. I spend an awful lot of time trying to keep my boyfriend from giving a lot of money...he knows me now when we go out I tip.

Fancy That
I don't get paper delivery because it is an expense that does not yeild any tangible asset. I rarely go out to eat for the same reason, but when I do, I tip generously.

Giving is the only way to ensure your own prosperity.

I am generally careful. I don't have enough to spread around freely. That's the boring truth. After bills, there's little left.

.My wife reckons I am the tightest person she knows.
I know every penny I have [personally].
I never tip when we ocassionally go out for a meal because I don't believe in it. Both my wife and me work very hard and are very careful with our money, that's how we can afford a new car every three years and I can afford 3 motorcycles.

i am very careful in spending my money, but i ALWAYS tip at a resturaunt. i am a server, so i know what it is like to make $2.65 an hour and depend on your tips. it sucks.

Eileen J
I am generous to a fault sometimes.. I like to make people happy and sometimes just that little bit extra makes their day. Both my daughters were waitresses and informed me of many things that go on behind the scenes and most people do care for good service so they will pay a bit more I think...I am also careless with money more than I should be,,,always loosing it....in pockets, purses , etc... I rather charge things to see where it all goes ...

I'm not stingy, but I also don't spend what I don't have. I do try to tip well at restaurants. Minimum is 15%. If I get good service I try to give 20%. If I'm in an expensive restaurant ($100+ check) it might be 16-18%. In cheap places I've been known to leave 25-30% cause its such a minimal amount on a $10 check.

As for the newspaper guy I just send him a $20 check or gift card at Christmas. Same for some other service people.

I also ALWAYS tip $2/night to the maid at a hotel. Think about how hard they work and how little they get paid. If only 10 people left $2 she/he'd have an extra $20 a day (tax free) - that would make a helluva difference in their life.

I know I'm fortunate to have what I have and I give for two reasons 1) I'm fortunate and 2) I get better service.

Careful but I tip generously when I'm given good personal service. I always tip maintenance man, paper delivery person, cleaning lady, restaurant service people, at car wash.

PurpleHaze27
you are only here once enjoy it while you have it...its nice to be nice....so give and help out as much as you can...

always help out your mates and family and people how need it more than you...

Brittany
Im too generous with my money. I tip too much to the pizza boy, I tip too much to the waiters and waitresses. Just the other day at a garage sale the lady wanted $15 for a dresser and i gave her $50. She was such a nice lady. I need to get this under control!

enoriverbend
You make it sound like those are opposite ends of a spectrum but they are not.

My wife and I are very careful with our money, and I think we are reasonably generous. "Careful with money" would mean something like not going out to expensive restaurants too often. But when we do go, we certainly leave a reasonable (and sometimes high) tip, assuming the service is good.

And, after all, the more careful you are with money, the more money you can afford to give to charities and similar acts of generosity.

Not leaving a tip at a restaurant is not being careful with money, it's being downright cheap and vulgar.

i kind of am but then in a way im definately not either
