Definately, I do it all the time. Just make sure to keep the receipt until you see it on your statement. |

I already had the lovely experience of it not being counted towards my deposit....basically, Bank of America said that I didn't have any cash.... |

I would...but it takes a few days longer to get it credited to the account.....the receiving bank doesn't do the deposits...it's rounded up and taken to central location for confirmation of deposits. |

Have for fifteen or so years, never a problem. Also pay all bills on line since June, 2000 and never a problem. Used to obcess over those carbon copies of my checks, now I have not kept a check register in over six years.
They do it right. |

Nope!
I don't even mail any of my bills.
I either go directly to the utility company/phone company/Internet company/etc, or I pay at one of those pay station places where you can pay a small fee, and it is automatically paid to your account.
I don't trust sending even a money order in the mail anymore. |

Yes, it is actually more safe to deposit cash through an ATM machine then the night drop. The machine will mark the amount on the outside of your envelope that you key in and two bank representatives will verify it the next morning.
It is definitely okay to deposit cash through the machine. :) |

NO - I would use the overnight drop slot at the bank - since I am there - do NOT deposit cash money -

Yes. The machine takes your deposit, and will hold it until a person from the bank comes to refil the machine and collect it. with some machines you can even apply the amount directly to your account right away. If you trust it to take money out trust it to put money in. (Plus a camera watches every machine in the US for security reasons!) Any desputes can be solved that way |
