Sounds like there are one or more pending charges that have not yet posted to your account. This could be from checks, account transfers, debit card transactions, etc. Think of the charges as in-process. Assuming it's an American bank, the charge details should show up by the next business day.
if you really need to know what is happening now, call your bank. They may be able to see more about the pending charges than you can see online/by phone. |

you may have some charges from a store that have not offically cleared from your account. or payments or holds on your account that have been tranmitted but not cleared from the account. |

sometimes there are debits or activity that hasn't actually "posted" yet until the next business day. THis usually happens over the weekend. Your cards that you use are automatic, but it still requires processing later from the bank. Go by the available balance. |

Did you recently deposit a check equal to the exact difference?
Perhaps you have a Visa or ATM transaction that caused a hold on the difference?
These things usually clear on the next business day or, in the case of a check that hasn't cleared, abou 4 days. |

If you have recently made a deposit, you will not be able to access it for a few days(if it was made through ATM) or until the cheques are cleared (5-10 days). |

Some money has gone in to your account - but hasn't cleared the clearing system. Maybe a check that could possibly bounce. Banks clear things slowly and get the 3 or 4 days interest on your money! |

Because $649 is not available yet. This usually relates to recently deposited checks that are not available for a few days while the bank sees if they are good. |

Some only allow a certain amount to be taken per day to protect you from fraud. |

hi,
Sometimes, the bank updates their record after they sent out the last information they have.
In between, you might have written checks already, or your deposit must have not recorded yet. ( paycheck of some kind as one example of the deposits.)
So, you have to record all your expenses and deposits all the time, whether it be from the use of your debit card, your checks or cash withdrawal.
Some businesses where you issue your payment takes 5 days before they cash your check payment that you sent through the mail and some are so quick to cash ...
I hope that this clear you out a bit. |

I believe the bank is keeping part of the balance so you can't access it..although it could just be a problem with bank records.

Maybe there were fees that you did not plan for something. Call your bank to be certain. |

You have outstanding withdrawals for the difference. It should be deducted by the end of the business day. |
