Absolutely not!!
I bank with nat west and last year I jumped on the band wagon and decided to ask them for all my "unfair" bank charges back.
I requested all my statements trawled through them all and highlighted all the charges after two months I received an offer of 90% back.
I accepted this offer although they admitted no fault and it was credited into my account.
This is a true story so do not stand for huge organisations trying to get the better of you.
Stand up and be counted!! |

The law test case for fair bank charges is due to start on mon. it is expect to go on for some time and banks are not entertaining any requests for refunds until the case is settled. The big banks do expect to win by the way. if they loose then none of us will be getting an overdraft, agreed or otherwise in the future. if you aint got it you will not be able to spend it.We will only be offered loans |

Not at all, i would suggest go immediately to see the bank manager and demand the money back, don't just phone you won't get anywhere with that. If they refuse change banks. |

no way man, but we've all got to wait for a test case to find out if we can claim it all back |

No...These high bank charges are unlawfull. Banks are only allowed to claim costs that have been incurred, so for going overdrawn it cost them about £2.50. When the Office of Fair Trading has finished the test case we will know whether the bank have to automatically refund ALL charges within the last 6 years. |

Well, you DID spend the money you don't have. Is that fair to the bank to come up with the money you don't have? Beside, when you open an account with the bank, they arleady give you bank disclosure on the fees and charges. You just have to keep better tack of your OWN account balances. |
