offer him a check and send it by recoded delivery that way u know if he got the money and u can Always cancel or u can just pay through pay-pal at least there insured |

if you bought them off ebay, then you are covored by Paypal and ebay for anyone who doesnt send you your items... If you are with ebay but don;'t have a Paypal account, I suggest opening one. If you didn't buy them from ebay, then youre just going to have to send the money and hope that he doesnt f**k you over. |

Get him to list them on www.ebay.co.uk for a buy it now price. Make sure you "buy them" straight away.
Pay through www.paypal.co.uk
OR
As others have said, buy from someone else.
It might be worth looking on ebay or ebid any way to see if you can get them cheaper.

so he sends the item to the post office and you pay at the post office once it gets there. ;-) |

I wouldn't buy the tickets from him.
He may well not trust you either, and want your money (cleared) first before sending the tickets. One of you has to trust the other or you won't get the tickets. |

if he is so far away why does he have 2 extra? This alone should raise some suspicions. Try contacting him via cell phone as he may just live around he corner. |
