I am so scared about wedding budget...please help me!?
I have 8 more months until the wedding...Feb 2011. This is the expenses we have left.
Expenses:
DJ 530
Catering 1500
photographer is 1150. He said we can wait to pay him...plus we will probably get our tax returns right around when we get married so we can use our tax returns to pay for the photographer. My fiance and I usually get a thousand for tax return so my fiance and me will each get 2 thousand for tax return maybe?
My fiance's wedding band: 1000
Alterations ? (the dress fits me but it needs hemmed and a bustle)
Hair/makeup/nails ??? I don't know but I want a spa to do this
Invitations $200? (we are getting a deal from a tux company who also does invitations)
Rehearsal Dinner (Godfather's pizza delivered to room in church after rehearsal)...idk how much it will cost
Decorations for rehearsal dinner in church ??
Florist $500? She said it would be around that
I get paid around 600 a month (with all bills already taken out..not including gas.)

Why are you getting tax returns and letting Uncle Sam use your money? Change your withholding so you take home more each paycheck and DON'T get a refund.
Then, use that extra take-home pay to pay for these things.
IF you can't afford these things, then CUT BACK. Why do you need a $1,000 man's wedding band?
Is your family paying for any of it?
Perhaps a close relative could pay for the florist as a wedding gift?
If you only make $600 a month, then you need to get a second (or third) job. Perhaps another relative could pay for pizza at the rehersal? Same with the "spa" for you?
Why is he making payments on a TV? And a car? Sell the car and buy a good used car for cash.
In the future, don't finance a TV?!?!?!? |

His wedding band can wait. Get a cheaper, sterling silver one for the ceremony until you can afford to upgrade it. Work a second job between now and the wedding. |
